What is Blackjack?

Blackjack is the most played table card game in the world, and Murlani runs a clean, classic version of it — you versus the dealer, first to get as close to 21without going over. It is the perfect mix of luck and decision-making: the cards you are dealt are random, but what you do with them changes the outcome.

Card Values

• 2 through 10 — worth their printed number.
• Jack, Queen, King — worth 10.
• Ace — worth 1 or 11, whichever keeps your hand ≤ 21. The table automatically scores the ace in whichever way is best.

A hand consisting of an Ace and any 10-value card on the initial deal is a Blackjack — a natural 21.

How a Round Works

1. Place your bet — set your wager in the bet input before the deal.
2. Press Deal — you receive two face-up cards; the dealer gets two cards (one face up, one face down).
3. Your turn — choose Hit, Stand, Double or Split based on your cards and the dealer's visible card.
4. Dealer's turn — once you stand, the dealer flips their hidden card and hits until reaching 17 or higher.
5. Hands are compared — the closest to 21 without busting wins. Ties push.

Your Four Actions

Hit

Take another card. You can hit as many times as you like, until you stand or your hand total goes over 21. If you go over, you bust and immediately lose the bet on that hand.

Stand

Keep your hand as is and pass play to the dealer. Use Stand when your total is strong enough that another card is too risky.

Double

Double your original bet and take exactly one more card. Available only on the initial two cards (and on each hand after a split). This is the single most profitable action in the game when used correctly — typically on totals of 9, 10 or 11 against a weak dealer card.

Split

If your first two cards are a pair (same rank), you can split them into two separate hands. Each hand gets a second card drawn automatically and is played independently. Splitting costs an additional bet equal to your original wager. After a split you can still Hit, Stand or Double on each hand, but you can't split again.

Dealer Rules

The dealer has no decisions — they play strictly by the rules:

• The dealer must hit until their total is at least 17.
• On 17 or higher, the dealer stands.
• If the dealer busts (goes over 21), every non-busted player hand wins.

Payouts

Basic Strategy — The Short Version

Always Hit

• Any total of 8 or less.
• 9, 10 or 11 if you can't double.
• 12–16 when the dealer's up card is 7, 8, 9, 10 or Ace.
• Soft 17 or less (a hand with an Ace counted as 11).

Always Stand

• Hard 17 or higher.
• 12–16 when the dealer's up card is 4, 5 or 6 (dealer is most likely to bust).
• Soft 19 or higher.

Always Double

• 11 against any dealer card.
• 10 against any dealer 2–9.
• 9 against a dealer 3–6.

Always Split

• Aces — always. Two hands, each starting with 11, is massively profitable.
• 8s — always. Splitting two 8s (total 16, a bad total) gives you two much better starting hands.

Never Split

• 10s — you already have 20. Don't break up a near-winning hand.
• 5s — treat them as a 10 and consider doubling instead.
• 4s against most dealer cards — splitting turns a soft 9-like hand into two weak hands.

• Learn one strategy chart — memorise a basic strategy chart. It cuts the house edge to around 0.5%.
• Always split Aces and 8s — this single rule alone saves you money over a long session.
• Never take insurance — the expected value is negative, and most bankroll tables recommend skipping it.
• Don't mirror the dealer — many beginners stand on 17 because the dealer does. Your strategy depends on the dealer's up card, not your own fear of busting.

Can I double after splitting?

Yes. Each split hand is treated as a fresh two-card hand, so Double is available on each if you have the balance.

What if the dealer has blackjack?

If the dealer's up card is an Ace or a 10-value card, the table checks for dealer blackjack before you act. If the dealer has it, the hand ends immediately — unless you also have blackjack, in which case it's a push.

What is a "soft" hand?

A hand containing an Ace counted as 11. A soft 17 is Ace + 6, for example. Soft hands are safer to hit on because the Ace can drop to 1 if you go over.
